Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

Keystone is made in China and is of that kind of quality - NONE!!! After a year, mine does nothing but ice up. Their warranty may lead you to believe the refrigeration system is warranted longer than a year, but, it's NOT!! Look elsewhere!

Ive still have this model its 8 years old and have been very happy with it. Its in my basement and I set the timer for 8 hrs, I only run it in the summer. The only thing I would change on it is that the drainage tube in the back should not be right above where the power cord comes out. I have a hose hooked up to the back to drain directly into my floor drain. If you dont tighten the hose, water will leak onto that power cord. I dont think that is safe.

It's a decent unit, but I've had to replace them twice over 5 years. First one ran out of refrigerant after two years (1 summer use) , so I got sent a replacement unit by keystone. The next one lasted 3 years (missed the second summer , and had been used for the remaining 2 summers) before the compressor went psycho and randomly turned on (without the fan) and promptly overheated and burnt itself out. The Hygrometer was also off by about 7-10%. Couldn't even turn the unit off, wouldn't respond to any controls and had to be unplugged. Too bad because it did a really good job too.

Hi like your video very informative. I have a Garrison /70pint Dehumidifier I’ve had it for 2/ 3 years ? The problem I had in the first yr when I would adjust the temperature gage to Low setting ( 35c ) it would run for 30 to 40 seconds and shut off but would start up again ? fist it would give out cold air flow followed by hot air ? My question is why does it keep shutting off ? Even do my reader dehumidifier read high humidity and dehumidifier reader is different So I’m looking for another product which would recommend? I’m done with this Garrison product looking forward in your reply thx u

Since this humidifier is a gift; I’ll use it. In about five attempts I haven’t been able to activate it, at least to the point where it began to draw moisture. I’m missing some essential piece of information. Logic wasn’t enough. Thanks!

Could be the way has been stored or transported. They contain Freon, so they have to be upright for at least 24 - 48 hours prior to use.

You could've shown every aspect of the dehumidifier. The continuous drain setup was helpful but an unboxing and then in operation on every setting would be really helpful. I am having trouble with the continuous drain setup. Thanks.

UnderStructureRepair.com we do everything in crawlspaces in Upper East Tennessee. We use this unit repeatedly. We DO NOT use the one with the pump. We remove the wheels, build a small, level platform about 20" high and level (using sand below) . We drain it down into a little Giant condensate pump, and take the water outside or tie into the condensate drain that might already be in place. We give a three year warranty without buying the extended warranty. We use this unit when the crawlspace has no insulation or we are removing the insulation and the crawlspace is between 600-1200 square feet. Otherwise, we use our commercial unit (Moisture Medic). We have NEVER lost a dehumidifier in 11 years. Vandals busted one and UPS busted one, but otherwise, the units are solid as a rock. I'm putting this very unit under a condo in Kingsport, TN next week. It's 800 square feet and 40" tall. It will be clean with a 12 mil white polyethylene liner. So, whoever goes in to wash the filter won't even get their knees dirty. Absolutely Great Unit.

I hope someone see my comment here, even though it's so late...the power used is not related atall to the level of humidity. The compressor is using that current to run, and in turn, that relates to power consumption. The compressor does not think, care or make a decision based on humidity, it simply runs. It's either running, or not. Power draw can indicate compressor performance, especially when a power/current reading is done when new. That would give a baseline for future performance. If the power/current increases too much, it would indicate a need perhaps for a new start/run cap, or even a new compressor. It's a wise decision to measure a new unit as my new 70 pint was really a 50 pint, indicated by it's readings that matched not a 70 pint model, but the cheaper 50 pint model. If I hadn't used my Kill-A-Watt meter to measure, I might never discovered I had been cheated. All the labels were for the FAD704DWDE, but the measurements proved it was a 50 pint model's compressor. Happy New Year! Of course, if the unit keeps running, for example, if it's undersized, that will use more electricity, but because of the unit itself, but by running constantly.
